What's the weirdest dream you've ever had?

The other night I had a really weird dream.

So all the girls in my year 7 class (including me) had to go to this basketball tournament in the country with our sports teacher as our coach.. The town we played in strangely resembled my school oval... hmmm. Anyway I missed the beginning of one game, but that's not important. I just remember it. I can't remember if we won or loss though, but the next part is the weird part.

I thought the town we were in was a WA country town, but it was apparently a NSW country town because we caught a plane from Sydney.

It was a glass-walled A380 plane. So we took off from Sydney Airport and landed at Adelaide Airport. It was really weird because you could see the Sydney skyline behind the Adelaide skyline (what Adelaide skyline? no jk, jk :)). Then we taxied down the runway after landing. At first we taxied down the Adelaide runway but then we also taxied the 1750 km to my city (which you all have probably worked out by now). We taxied into my city's airport then down the train tracks in the middle of the freeway and we stopped right at the local train station. It was quite convenient really. And the taxiing only took a few second! Actually, I think we might have bypassed the roads between Adelaide and my city as well as my city's airport and just gone straight from Adelaide to the freeway railway.

In 38 Days...

I will be jumping on a plane. I will be going the furthest away from home that I've ever been. I'll be sleeping in a different bed. I'll be looking out the window and I'll be seeing...
The Sydney Harbour Bridge and the city beyond.

Yes, I'm going to Sydney.

I've never been before and I'm super duper excited.

And the best part? No brothers or sisters with me. Mum says it's my holiday for getting through primary school.

The other best part is that we get to climb the Harbour Bridge.

The bit that i'm not that thrilled about though is the plane ride. I love planes. But I'm sure you've all heard about at least one QANTAS plane crash, which we just so happen to be flying with, happening recently.

This is just a quick post to keep y'all updated.

If anyone recoimmends doing something, let me know. I'm all ears ^.^

Didn't Know I Could Do That

A couple of weeks ago, I came home and checked my email and saw and email saying that I was doing the 4 km walk , which was a part of a big marathon that takes place each year.

At first, I was annoyed, because I really didn't want to do it. At all. But then I warmed up to the idea and decided I was going to come first out of everybody. That or refuse to even cross the start line and be my normal stubborn self.

In the leading up days, I started to decide that there was no way at all that I would come first out of everybody, so I decided to try and come first out of every one in the school team.

We got there and wandered on to the very crowded oval, where the race was going to start. It was very
crowded, as I said before.

After waiting a while, the starting gun went. It took us about 5 minutes to get from where we were standing. We finally got past the start line and around the oval, before continuing onto the road. AT first I walked with my Mum and Aunty but then decided that they were going too slow so I started to walk with Dad, but he was also going too slow so I guess I just started to walk a little faster.

Before I knew it, I was at the drink station, also known as the 1km mark, and way ahead. I was hoping to see my fellow Guides there, but there was no sign.

Did I mention that I've never ran 4 km before?

There was a big hill that hurt my legs, but when I got to the top, I 1. Could see the water, and 2. Knew the rest was mostly downhill.

I rounded the last corner and started full out running. I had been running most of the way, but also walking quite a bit.

I pased the finish line, walked a bit and stopped to talk to my "friend" who is in year 3 while we waited for our slow parents to get to the finish line. After they finally got there, we went and collected our free bottles of Powerade and collected out awesome medals that were very generic.

My brother went to get a bottle, but the guy handed him a whole tray full. So now I have 1 and a half bottle sitting in the fride waiting to be drunk.

Now for the results. I came 14th from the school team and 2604th from the 7400 people that did the 4kn walk. I'm sorta sad about coming 14th though, because I passed heaps of people from school. Most of the way, I was thinking that I was going to come first from the school team beacuse I ran most of the way. I get to the finish line and saw that my "friend" had beaten me. I was okay with that beacuse that meant I came 2nd, but then she said she saw some other people pass from  school before me.

Checking the results today, I feel stupid.

I did it in 34 minutes and 13 seconds. I didn't know I could do that.

Forgetting about that though, I'm incredibly excited becuse in 37 days...

Well, I can't say right now, but I will soon. I'm so super duper excited.

Why Spain Will Win the World Cup... and Other Assorted Paragrpahs

...because Paul the Octopus said they would, and Paul's always right because hes an octopus. So I'm going for Spain so I can rub it in every ones face *if I want* (not that I would) when Spain wins.

Now onto some other nonsense I want to clear up...

I really couldn't care less for AFL, except I *do* go two teams. (It's always been true). Lets call the teams from my state team #1 and team #2. I go for #1 because my sister goes for #2. I support two teams. #2 and whatever team #1 is playing. I just had to add that random snippet from my mind.

Also, have any good songs or movies? I need at least 2 more hours of songs or movies on my iPod for this "holiday" next week that's a 14 hour drive. (Our friend, who lives about 3 1/2 hours south of us would get there before us if we both left at the same time). I don't like long drives.You've probably realised that I don't really want to go. I don't because I miss out on 1 and a half weeks of school. I ALWAYS miss the first session of this dancing course everyone does. Normally I hate it, but the year 7's always get the best song. This year, that means me. Also I have photos to check out from our class party that have yet to be downloaded. Maybe I can get my friend to email them to me.

That reminds me. Has anyone downloaded iOS 4 yet? (for all the iPod touches and iPhones out there) It's awesome. Much better than the last operating system. You can put your apps in folders. Get this... I had 8 pages of apps, and I narrowed it down to 3. It's amazing!

Now only 2 more paragraphs I wanna write.

Today, we went to this electronics store to "stock take" the electronics we would need for our trip. a.k.a. replacing headphones that always go missing. You know how there's always displays of the stuff? Well my sister and I found two iPads that were demos. Now I'm addicted. I <3 the keyboard so much. But it's sort of clunky.  Next to the iPads, there was a Mac (not sure what type) and the screen was like, as big as my TV. There were some TVs across the aisle and the Computer screen was even bigger than them. ANd it had good sound because iTunes was open and I clicked on the Owl City folder and I blasted it throughout the store. *wopps :P* Then we found the massage chairs on demo and the Wii that was also a demo.

Last weekend there was nothing on, so I switched it onto Oprah, where the Twilight stars were being interveiwed. I went along with it and watched it, even though I hate Twilight as much as it's possible. Then my sister did the unthinkable. She put the Bali copy of Twilight we had on. I protested but she wouldn't budge. Now I'm scared I'm turning into a Twi-Hard, because I loved it and now I want to rent New Moon. Please NO NO NO. I get Google Alerts for Harry Potter and it came up with an article titled something like Hermione vs Bella. It's very interesting.

Exploring My Backyard

Your probably wondering how I can explore my backyard. It's actually pretty big considering I live in a city. There is a brick wall down the middle, and beyond the brick wall (the other part of the backyard) is a mess with weeds and rusty metal.

Anyway, today I was in a particularly adventurous mood my sister and put our jeans on, I put my canvas shoes and some knee socks for protection. I wore a long sleeve top, also for protection. We grabbed a plastic bag for anything we found, and out we headed.

It turned out we did find quite a bit. We found a pair of really old, rusty BBQ tongs, some assorted lids, and some random, interesting rubbish. Anyway, we went and showed Mum and Dad the tongs. Dad said they were off the old BBQ in our front backyard. Mum said she had never seen them before. Then I dropped them on the carpet, as one does when they're only holding them with the non rusty tip. They snapped right in half and all the little pieces of rust went everywhere. Woops :P

Then we got bored so we decided to attempt toclimb the only climable tree in our yard. We hadn't climed it since we were very little, and I'd only ever made it to the first branch. So I tried to to climb to the secong branch, and I made it! Then I tried the third and the fourth. I made them aswell :D The fourth was very hard, because I had to stand up and take a step while standing on a branch with a diameter of about a meter (very thin) above the shed roof which was rust and thin and breakable. It was scary but I made it. Yay! The had bit was getting down.

Just thought I'd tell you about that little adventure :)

This Week's Big Adventures

This week was a pretty good week. On Wednesday, we started making models of our dream home in Extension Class. Then on Thursday, we went to the museum to see an exhibit on Pompeii. Before we went, my class watched a video on Youtube about the volcano. I think that the exhibit was boring, and I didn't learn a thing. The 3-D Movie was okay, but I still learnt more from the video on Youtube.

Then yesterday, on Saturday, everyone celebrated 100 years of Girls Guides. This was defiantly the highlight of the week. Everyone, well the Girl Guides who wanted to in the cityhad been preparing for weeks. We had all received our new shirts that we had to wear, and were REALLY excited. When I say excited, I don't mean excited about what your having for dinner that night, or excited that you get to play dodge at school today. It was excited as in going on an overseas holiday, to meet your favourite singer and actor, and staying at a 5 star hotel all together. We were so excited that we couldn't sleep.

On Saturday, I got up at 6:40, which I think is the earliest I think I've ever gotten up at, then quickly got ready before my friend arrived at 6:50. We left at 7:00, the sun still rising. It felt like it was sunset. We met in a car park and went to check in. Wait. I havn't told you exactly what we're doing yet. Silly Me :P All the Guides in the district are having an Amazing Race (*Luv that show*) type game around the entire city. We are only allowed to use public transport/trains, and we have to travel around the city and answer question in a book we were given such as "How many camping stores can you see from  *********  Station?".

We were given a balloon, that we had too keep the whole day, and an egg, that we weren't allowed to crack. We left the check in place and hopped on the train to go and get our answers. There was also a scavenger hunt, and we had to get our photo with a clown. We easily completed that task (well most of us. You see, my other friend had a fear of clowns) and went on with the rest.

Before 9:45, we had already finished the questions on one whole trainline.

I think we spent about 2 hours on trains. But I don't mind, because I absolutley LOVE travelling on trains. I'm still not sick of them! On the train back to the check-in place, 3 other Guiding friends and I were playing around with the bluetooth on our iPods and phones.

I really enjoyed the day and had heaps of fun. I can't wait until the 200th aniversary :P

How to To Train Your Dragon - Reveiw

Yesterday was my sisters birthday, so we went into the city, did some {VERY boring} shopping, and then went to see a movie. The movie we saw was... How To Train A Dragon... IN 3D (dun dun dun)



Plot...
How To Train Your Dragon is about a tribe of Vikings, and in particular, a boy called Hiccup. Hiccup's dad is the leader of the tribe, who's village is alwayds being attacked by dragons. Hiccup works in a blacksmith shop and has always wanted to catch and kill a dragon, so he can get the attention of Astrid, a girl in the village. When dragons attack again, Hiccup decides to go and try to kill one with a homemade cannon/catapult. Low and behold, he gets the tail of one. The next day, he goes for a walk and finds a Night Fury, the biggest, most feared species of dragon, and the one he shot. No one has ever found one, and lived to tell the tail. He pulls out his knife, but can't pull himself to kill it. The dragon can't fly becuase it's missing its tail. Hiccup is soon enrolled in Dragon Hunting academy. He becomes famous amongs the villagers, because he has a "way" with dragons. Hiccup calles the Night Fury Toothless. I'm not going to ruin therest, an you will just have to go see it yourself.

My Thoughts...

DEFINATLY 4/12 stars. I LOVED this movie. It was one of the best movies I have ever seen, and I highly recommend it. I also liked how they made it sort of modern, like at the beginning, Hiccup says 'Most people have normal pest, like fleas, and mosquitoes, but WE have Dragons". So it was sort of lik ethey WERE

It would have 5 stars if the begining weren't so boring. I remeber thinking "Well this movies gonna get 2 stars on my blog tommorow". It's also a bit sad and scary in places. Again, I highly recommend this movie.
