Living in Australia: The Gleek Edition + Glee 3D Live

Things I love about living in Australia
  • We get a lot of movies a day or two before the US.

Things  I don't like about living in Australia
  • No one good ever comes here - especially the Glee cast on their concert tours.
  •  Everyone famous is in the US
~~~~~~~~~~
So on Monday morning I woke up and found that I had won that contest on a cinema's facebook page to go and see Glee at my State's premiere. Except it was that night.
But I went with my friend. There was a red carpet, cheerleaders performing, and even a show choir singing Don't Stop Believing.
They gave out slushees, badges, and the awesome guy checking VIP passes gave us posters. He was amazing.
Then the movie started. It was amazing.I'm saying everything's amazing, aren't I? But it was amazing.
Then the Warblers came on. -le scream-. The mini warbler is so much cuter on the big screen! My friend and I ran up the front and did the Teenage Dream two step. T'was amazing fun. And we won a t-shirt, for being one of the first to dance or something.
And then when Chris Colfer performed 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand', I cried. He is amazing. The entire cast is amazing.
For my subject electives for next year, I put Drama. I don't even know why. I guess just because it loked fun and all my friends were doing it. And I'm VERYY shy.
But now, just seeing that movie has inspired me. I am really looing forward to next year.
Then I went and saw it again last night, which was a session that had been booked for 2 months. It wasn't as fun, because there wasn't dancing or singing. But it was still amazing.
I recommend it to each and every one of you. Even if you don't like Glee. Well fine, maybe not then, but the music is pretty amazing. So you would at least like that part.
But you know what the best part of the movie was? The random lady dressed in a Santa suit in the audience. Yep.
So yeah. I saw it twice before it even came out in the US.
My End of 2010 Post
Where I am, it will be a new year, a new decade in 8 hours and 56 minutes.
I sort of like scaring my self by saying that 2010 will never come again. It's over. 2010 is done. I'm a freak when it comes to stuff like that.
_____________________
This year I also...
  • Started Year 7 and completed primary school
  • Discovered Starkid.
  • Got into the Academic Extension classes at the highshool I'm going to.
  • Became closer to my best friend
  • Maybe made another really really good friend
  • discovered that you don't have to follow the latest fashion or listen to the latest music to be accepted by the "cool people" (though it does help)
 For me, 2010 has been a really good year. But I also have a good feeling about 2011
______________________
Seeing as it's new year, I thought I'd make some resolutions/dreams/hopes.
  • Stop chewing my nails
  • Make some new friends who will be friends for life when I go to highschool.
  • Tavel back to Sydney, somehow.
  • Be a nicer person
  • Be healthier and not skip so much basketball training
  • Stop reblogging so much on Tumblr.
  • See a Starkid show (not gonna happen, but it's okay to dream, right?)
I don't normally make resolutions. This is the  first time I have decided I'm going to stick by them aswell.
What are your resolutions?
Today was Orientation Day + Another Award
{When I started this post, it was Monday and I had just got home from Orientation... Now it's Wednesday :| }
Next year I'm off to high school.And I'm scared. But today was the orientation day.
We got to the school and went into the auditorium where we were told some pretty much useless stuff, before being sorted into groups to go around the school in.
{I'll now pick up where I left off after Monday}.
I met these girls which I sorta made friends with. There was this girl who I think I could relate quite a bit too, a girl from a country town about 2.5 hours away who is in on the swim program, and these two girls who seemed really friendly but I didn't really get to know.
My group got all the boring classes. We did science {which was very scary; we blew stuff up like balloons filled with hydrogen and magnesium in some sort of acid}, computers {we just learnt how to navigate the school website which I already new *ugh*}, English {we cut out pictures, glues them to a piece of paper and had to write a story using the pictures. The English teacher made me laugh so hard. She reminded me of a call center person - can I help you?}, maths {I learned that my year 5 teacher taught me about "BIMDAS" wrong} and art {where we drew pictures and watched the art teacher get angry because some people didn't put enough detail in}. My friend's groups all got classes like cooking, photography and PE {better than English anyday}.
That's basically all I remember for now though, so on to the next part of this post.
The lovely Blaize (Random Rawr has awarded me again, but with a different award. Thanks so much Blaize! x
I now pass it on to {hmmm...} Cassidy and also Rose,{even if she already has it} because I well, love your blogs!
When Blaize said my name, she called me "Frangipani the Fish", which brings me to my next topic.
Olivia once said...
"So now whenever I publish a post and see 'by Olive Tree' at the bottom, I cringe. I feel that I am hiding behind a screen name instead of really being myself. I also feel that this name, while interesting, no longer describes me"
I think that what Oliva said sums up how I feel perfectly. So I'm changing my name back to Lily. I think Frangipani the Fish felt sort of babyish I guess.
I'll change my signature next time I'm on the "gimp computer", if I remember how to use gimp :P
Bye for now, Lily xo
P.S. I'm thinking of changing the design of this blog soon. It just doesn't feel like "me".
Highlights of Camp
I'm back from camp! (I wonder how many posts have started off with that sentance similar to that?) It went sooo quick. 5 days with just friends!
I'm not going to go into great detail, but here are the highlights.
Highlight #1: Prusiking
Have you ever been prusiking? Wait, you probably don't even know what it is. Prusiking is a way of climbing ropes where you sit in a harness, loosen the knot of a loop and push it up, then put your foot in it and hoist yourself up. Then you loosen the knot holding the harness on and push that up, sit down and do it again. It's a bit hard to explain.
I like to think I owned, but I was 5th fastest in the class, so I infact did not own.But I loved it, even when I did get 5 blisters after climbing the rope 4 times. YEAH!
Theres a photo on my friends camera that I'll add later when I get the photos :)
Highlight #2: Archery
I love archery, and I know want to take it up as a sport, like you do with netball and basketball. The lady said I had a good posture, so I guess that's a start...
Highlight #3: Being with my Friends
Who doesn't like spending time with friends? No further information needed.
We also went to this little island, to a Naval Base island, to the beach a lot and make rafts (am I seriously the only one who know what a reef knot is and how to do it?). The camp was right on the beach.
Now this is off the topic of friends, but, I can't stand reading anything in a sort of bad condition. In this case, I don't think I'll ever share my things again. Ya see, I let my friends borrow my new Dolly magazine, that I hadn't read my self yet, but then I came back and the cover had come off. I had to get a whole new magazine.
Same thing happened to my Heist Society book. I bought it in Febuary, put it in my school bag to take to school then to have my drink bottle leak over everything. The pages on the in one corner are all puffy and annoying.
So yeah, pictures later.
Meet Fashion Dog and Einstein Dog
My pet pups. Well, technically, they're not puppies anymore.
This is Dobby. He is about 2 1/2 years old and is a blue healer x jack Russel. He definitely isn't the smartest dog, but he is *really* cute. He used to live with this old man who abused him. The man eventually got rescued when he chewed up the man's azaleas. Did I mention he got a fish hook up his nose while we we're in Sydney? That's Dobby for you!
He has a crooked eye, which we think is from when the old man kicked him.
Dobby always likes to wear the latest fashion, and doesn't care what it is. A bandanna or a hat.
Here he is sporting the latest shades...
He's name is Dobby beacuse when we first got him, he resembled Dobby off Harry Potter; his floppy ears, the scared look in his eyes and the shape of his face.
Now Eddy is a different story. He's a corgi and is really smart. And he speaks! Well, sort of. He howls at us when we get home, and it sounds something like "helloooo!" His ears are as long as his legs, and he always looks like a bobble head in photos taken from above :P
Eddy is also the "boss" dog beacause we've had him longer and he thinks he's important. He's always beating Dobby up.
I love my dogs.
What I've Been Doing Lately
First, the reason I haven't been blogging at all in the last month or so.
I have had Homework. That is the reason. But it was fun homework and it was for extension class.
I had to build my dream home!
These are taken with my mum's iPhone, so please excuse the poor lighting and quality :)
Let me take you on a tour of my 5 bed 4 bath dream home :)
The front of the house. Sorry for the poor lighting. and mess in the background. I shoved everything aside.
Welcome to my house. This is the front. The balcony has 3 doors leading from the front bedrooms. My dream home is like a mini mansion. .
Welcome to the first floor. On the first floor, there is a triple garage, a theatre and a guest wing (or as Dad calls it, the maid's quarters). There is a massive open living area.
There are big 3 meter high french/concertina doors that let you "open up the wall" to the outside. The east facing wall is the back wall and is made mostly of glass.
the first floor.
the big glass wall without the roof or the second floor.
my awesome massive french doors.
 There are 4 bedrooms on the second floor as well as a kitchen and two bathrooms.. Most important to my design is the big void area. On the second floor, there is a balcony looking down to the first floor and an inaccessible area. The kitchen has a dumwaiter to get food from the kitchen on floor one to the kitchen on floor two or vice versa.
the second floor.
To the exterior, my house has a sloped roof, with a two meter slope. It has a pool that's 10m by 3m and big french doors.
By far the best Extension class couse I've ever done. What does your dream home include?
P.S. Over the last couple of days I seemed to have gained 5 EXTRA FOLLOWERS! That is a lot to me guys. So thankyou so much Teddy2Tie, Kristen, pppookie, Random Rawr and thunderstar
Photos from My Holiday (a.k.a. My Trip)
I'm back! Well actually, I was back late Tuesday night. Wanna see some photos from my trip? I want to post photos because otherwise this will end up as a long boring post like some others. ANd photos are more interesting.
**NOTE: I did NOT take all of these photos myself. Mum took some, Dad took some and my brothers and sisters probably took some.**
So we set out driving on a Thursday. I wanted to leave at 5 in the  morning, except we still had to pack and Mum likes to come home to a tidy house.
On the way, we drove past a wind farm.
*Taken  by Dad*
We stopped at a town on the way and stayed there on Thursday and Friday night. On Friday morning, we had breakfast at a cafe with some friends. I had some average pancakes with delicious blueberries and yummy sauce.
Later that day, we went rock walking at a place where ther was lots of rocks.
This is my favourite photo from the whole trip. I like the colours. Don't you think it looks a bit like a layer cake that has collapsed?
*Both taken by Dad*
The next day (Saturday) we left that beautiful town and drove. And drove. And drove. Until 6 at night when we arrived at our final destination.
Driving *not sure who took this*
We did lots of fishing at the back of the reef, and almost as much snorkeling. I saw 2 stingrays {which I'm absolutely terrified of}. Don't you hate it when you're snorkel ling in a big group, and someone kicks you in the face? We caught a MASSIVE mackerel while trolling  in our boat. And then a shark swam up behind it and stardted chasing it then bit half off. Evil Shark. It still fed all of us + some friends though.
Some other photos.
Termite Mounds while driving. Mum took that photo. The face isn't edited in... *Mum's photo*
An emu just next to where we were staying. *A sibling's photo*.
The lighthouse just behind where we were staying. *My Photo*
*Not sure who took this*
*My photo*
*My Photo**I think*
*My Photo*
*Mum's or brother's photo*
Whales. We saw them almost every day. I think that photo is zoomed. *Not sure who took this*
5 Things that I Did/Saw That I Have Never Seen/Done Before
  1.  Passed the Tropic of Capricorn
  2. Saw termite mounds in person
  3. Snorkelled the Ningaloo Reef
  4. Seen a shark/stingray/manta ray that's not in captivity.
  5. Gone the furtherest north I've ever been.
I'm sure there's more but I can't think of any right now.
 My siblings had a rest day on Wednesday, but I - Being the nerd I am - went to school. I was nervous, as if I was starting a new school.
What do you think of the photos? Let me know.
P.S. I'm keeping my name as Frangipani the Fish (Thanks Braceface for your input :D) and do you like how I re-did the blog? Not design or anything.
Why Spain Will Win the World Cup... and Other Assorted Paragrpahs
...because Paul the Octopus said they would, and Paul's always right because hes an octopus. So I'm going for Spain so I can rub it in every ones face *if I want* (not that I would) when Spain wins.
Now onto some other nonsense I want to clear up...
I really couldn't care less for AFL, except I *do* go two teams. (It's always been true). Lets call the teams from my state team #1 and team #2. I go for #1 because my sister goes for #2. I support two teams. #2 and whatever team #1 is playing. I just had to add that random snippet from my mind.
Also, have any good songs or movies? I need at least 2 more hours of songs or movies on my iPod for this "holiday" next week that's a 14 hour drive. (Our friend, who lives about 3 1/2 hours south of us would get there before us if we both left at the same time). I don't like long drives.You've probably realised that I don't really want to go. I don't because I miss out on 1 and a half weeks of school. I ALWAYS miss the first session of this dancing course everyone does. Normally I hate it, but the year 7's always get the best song. This year, that means me. Also I have photos to check out from our class party that have yet to be downloaded. Maybe I can get my friend to email them to me.
That reminds me. Has anyone downloaded iOS 4 yet? (for all the iPod touches and iPhones out there) It's awesome. Much better than the last operating system. You can put your apps in folders. Get this... I had 8 pages of apps, and I narrowed it down to 3. It's amazing!
Now only 2 more paragraphs I wanna write.
Today, we went to this electronics store to "stock take" the electronics we would need for our trip. a.k.a. replacing headphones that always go missing. You know how there's always displays of the stuff? Well my sister and I found two iPads that were demos. Now I'm addicted. I <3 the keyboard so much. But it's sort of clunky.  Next to the iPads, there was a Mac (not sure what type) and the screen was like, as big as my TV. There were some TVs across the aisle and the Computer screen was even bigger than them. ANd it had good sound because iTunes was open and I clicked on the Owl City folder and I blasted it throughout the store. *wopps :P* Then we found the massage chairs on demo and the Wii that was also a demo.
Last weekend there was nothing on, so I switched it onto Oprah, where the Twilight stars were being interveiwed. I went along with it and watched it, even though I hate Twilight as much as it's possible. Then my sister did the unthinkable. She put the Bali copy of Twilight we had on. I protested but she wouldn't budge. Now I'm scared I'm turning into a Twi-Hard, because I loved it and now I want to rent New Moon. Please NO NO NO. I get Google Alerts for Harry Potter and it came up with an article titled something like Hermione vs Bella. It's very interesting.
If you have read everything I have said, I applaud you. Well done.Thankyou. Sorry for the long post.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
I like: Hannah Montana season 4, episode 2. Yes, call me a baby. I don't care. My army of teddy bears and Playschool toys will come and get you.
I feel: hyped up. I don't know what over though.
I can't stop playing/listening to: Airplanes by BoB.
I want to tell you: I really want at least one Australian follower. Pretty Please? *Puppy Face*
P.S. When I started this post, I was all hyped up, now I'm tired an not hyped up.
Already...?
Is it already the beginning of July? Half way through the year. I clearly remember last July. It's gone really fast. And now semester 1 is over, and I have 6 months 'til high school. 6 months left of my awesome teacher. 6 months of seeing my friends at school. Scary.
Normally I find class parties boring. Who doesn't? We normally just watch a movie and eat bad food. Today though, with my awesome teacher, we threw a party for two good friends who were leaving (one to America, and one to a school closer to where she lives) *sob sob*. We also had free dress, to make it even better.
In 6 months, I'll prpbably be blogging to tell you about my worries going into high school. Time Flies.
Currently reading: Nancy Drew #2 in the Eco-Mystery Triology
Can't stop playing/listening to: If I Had You - Adam Lambert: #1 fave song at the moment.
 Wants to tell you: I have Baby permanently embedded in my head.*uggh*
If I Hear It One More Time...
 I think I might scream. My sister is doing Stairway to Heaven for her piano recital, and has just been playing it for about 20 minutes, and as loud as the iPod speakers will go.
Your probably bored reading that though, so now I will tell you about something equally boring.
Today, we had a relief teacher, so we got to play basket ball in the afternoon. I have actually come to like basket ball quite a bit, after playing it every Saturday after netball. So I obviously played, excited to show my very limited skills off. Excpet about 5 minutes into the game,  I was wrestling the ball from my best friend, and I fell over and rolled my ankle. So sad, I wanted to play badly, and you probably wanted to read something actually interesting, so BYEE :)
Currently obsessing over: stardoll.com
Can't stop playing: Goodbye Earl by The Dixie Chicks. The bit that goes  Right away Mary Anne flew in from Atalnta, On a red eye midnight flight, She held Wanda's hand as they worked out a plan,And it didn't take long to decided, That Earl had to die makes me cry :(
Wants to tell you: to try not to roll your ankle when you play a sport you like.
P.S. Like the new design?
