Living in Australia: The Gleek Edition + Glee 3D Live

Things I love about living in Australia
  • We get a lot of movies a day or two before the US.

Things  I don't like about living in Australia
  • No one good ever comes here - especially the Glee cast on their concert tours.
  •  Everyone famous is in the US
~~~~~~~~~~
So on Monday morning I woke up and found that I had won that contest on a cinema's facebook page to go and see Glee at my State's premiere. Except it was that night.
But I went with my friend. There was a red carpet, cheerleaders performing, and even a show choir singing Don't Stop Believing.
They gave out slushees, badges, and the awesome guy checking VIP passes gave us posters. He was amazing.
Then the movie started. It was amazing.I'm saying everything's amazing, aren't I? But it was amazing.
Then the Warblers came on. -le scream-. The mini warbler is so much cuter on the big screen! My friend and I ran up the front and did the Teenage Dream two step. T'was amazing fun. And we won a t-shirt, for being one of the first to dance or something.
And then when Chris Colfer performed 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand', I cried. He is amazing. The entire cast is amazing.
For my subject electives for next year, I put Drama. I don't even know why. I guess just because it loked fun and all my friends were doing it. And I'm VERYY shy.
But now, just seeing that movie has inspired me. I am really looing forward to next year.
Then I went and saw it again last night, which was a session that had been booked for 2 months. It wasn't as fun, because there wasn't dancing or singing. But it was still amazing.
I recommend it to each and every one of you. Even if you don't like Glee. Well fine, maybe not then, but the music is pretty amazing. So you would at least like that part.
But you know what the best part of the movie was? The random lady dressed in a Santa suit in the audience. Yep.
So yeah. I saw it twice before it even came out in the US.
Guys, Keep Calm, Because I'm Now A Witch
Yes, I'm talking about Pottermore.
I don't know. I'm just really happy! This is the last bit of my childhood that will be new. I know I'll always have the books and the movies, and I'll never get sick of them, but they will never be new again.
Right now, they're finding a million (which in the Harry Potter fandom, isn't actually that much) fans to beta test the website before it's official release in October.
To get in,you basically just have to answer a question. Like "how many boos are in the series? Times this number by 10".
They are meant to start off really hard, but even the question on the first day was really easy.
Waiting for the email saying we were succesful was really intense! Now we're just waiting for the email that says when we can actually begin beta-testing...
So in My Last Post I Kinda Forgot To Mention I Might Come Back Oneday
It's funny how when you stop blogging, thats when all the writing inspiration comes.
So the Miley Cyrus concert. It was actually pretty amazing. Miley is amazing live. But I was seriously amazed at how many two year old were there. We were closer to the back than the front though, but the view was amazing. Moving on though.
I am a massive Potterhead. And I went to my first midnight screening. You know what makes me extremly happy? Though the world premiere in London was on the 9th, the official release date for the US and England is on the 15th, but us Aussies, being incredibly cool, got it on the 13th. I know right!
Though I don't think the movies will ever be as amazing as the books, the final movie was amazing. They cut quite a bit out though including *SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER* Fred's death. I guess I'm kind of glad though, because all the other deaths had me absolutly bawling my eyes out. Even when the WB logo came on at the begininning, I sobbed.
I just really love my aunty. She made me a robe to dress up with and I really love it. It's Ravenclaw, so it's automatically awesome.
You know what another amazing movie is though? Cars 2. I love love love the original, but I thought that the second would be a bit of a let down. It's basically a spy movie, and we all know I love spies. Mater and Lighning's friendship is amazing.
They showed the Glee Live 3D trailer, so that's never bad. The Warblers had Red Vines, so that's not bad at all either.
This has been a boring post, but I just really felt like posting something XD
I Dreamed a Dream About Idaho
When you read that post title, y'all were probably like lulwut? Because I don't live in Idaho and I've never even been out of Australia.
Anyway, onto the dream.
Our family was sitting at this vaguly familiar resaurant having a goodbye dinner for Mum, who was about to fly off to France. She was leaving at 4 the next morning, so I set my alarm so I could go to the airport.
We got to the airport, and I'm not too sure about the next bit, but it was a mall. In Idaho. So unless the restaurant was familiar from a TV show or movie or something, I have no idea how I got from Australia to a mall in Idaho. Actually, I'm pretty sure it was a mall-airport.
But it gets weirder. Mum wanted to buy one of those blue zippy lanyards from Smiggle, and I don't even know why. But then we bumped into one of my friends, not even one of my best friends.
When I told mum, she said my dreams were very detailed :P
I googled it, but I couldn't find anything and I'm not too sure what it means. Does anyone know?
I know this post is fairly short, but i don't know how to expand on it anymore.
Right now, I'm actually meant to be doing my science homework (grr. Hate science). But instead, I'm doing my second post in two days, after lately posting once a month. I'm not sure if I've just struck some sort of random, sudden inspiration, or what. And I'm not sure if it'll last, so ...
Two Posts in One
Here are two posts for you. the first one I've been meaning to post for about a week now, but I'm only getting around to it now. But now I have another post to post, so I figure I'll put them together!
I Guess You Could Say I'm Obsessed - 12/4/11
Yes, that is me.
And for the record, Red Vines are the most discusting lolly in the universe. They will now go on display on my desk/shelf.
I Now Have an Awesome Hogwarts Shirt - 17/4/11
Yesterday I went shopping at Jay Jays. For the first time in my life. But you know How I really like Glee? Yeah, well they're having this promostion thing where you can buy Glee clothes.
So when I walked in there today, I was fully planning on walking out with one of those shirts. Until I saw the single rack with the grey tshirt with the Hogwarts logo on it. Compared to the racks and racks and racks of Glee clothing which took me quite some time to spot.
If this is like, some phycological thing or something, that means I'm a bigger HP fan than a Gleek. I can spot the single HP rack quicker than the racks and racks of Glee stuff.
If I had enough money, I would have gotten one of each, but that would have been $40. and I only had $30 dollars. And I'd already bought a Harry Potter poster. I was going to buy the HP7 dvd, but I didn't, but now I'm glad because I will ALWAYS be able to buy that dvd. They still sell the Philosophers Stone, from 10 years ago. But as soon as that JayJays stock runs out, I'll never be able to buy it.
The Justin Bieber Movie is Actually Pretty Good.
Before I start this, I just want to let you all know that no, I'm not a Belieber. But I don't hate him either.
Anyway, me and 3 friends were going to go see it today in 3D, but it was cancelled at the last minute. I still really wanted to go, so I asked my other friend, who couldn't come, so I ended up going with my sister and her friend, who was sleeping over.
I saw about a hundred people at the cinemas who I know. I think most of them were seeing Justin Bieber as well.
You know the ads before the movie? Those is one of my favourite parts of the movie! I now have a list of movies I really want to see.
But onto the actual movie. There was a lot of purple. But apart from that it was pretty good.
It basically started with clips and photos from when he was a baby/young child then about him getting picked up for a record deal, all while counting down to his Madison Square Garden concert. I liked the backstage bits the best, but they could have had a few more.
Some of the girls they showed though... seriously. The bits where JB's manager and mum (?) were giving away tickets were so funny. So was every other scene with screaming fangirls.
I don't get why everyone hates him though. He's just a 17 year old kid who is doing what he loves and following his dreams. What did he ever do to you? And how would you feel if someone randomly started hating you, because it was the cool thing to do, or because he sounds too much like a girl?
Any you know what's awkward? When you're wearing a cheap pair of jeans you bought in Sydney, and you go to the toilet before you leave and the button that does them up breaks, then when you go to the toilet after the movie, your belt won't come undone so you tug it but it ends up breaking and you walk around with your pants falling down, the fly sort of coming undone and no belt.
This has been a mixed up, one topic-ed post.
Airplanes
While nearly everyone in the blogosphere is sitting there obsessing over mustaches (at least they were when I started this post), I'm sitting here, well, not really obsessing, but more loving and admiring airplanes.
When I first started this post, it was the day after we went kayaking at a part of the river that was fairly close to the airport. We could see planes landing and they were really close to the ground.
I think it's safe to say that I pretty much spent my entire day watching planes land. Landing is definitely my favourite part of flying. Well, that and take off.
The other day I bought a magazine called Australian Aviation. I don't think that I'm their target audience at all but it has some really interesting articles in it. But my favourite  part is the pictures. My favourite pictures were the Boeing 787 among the clouds and the Boeing 787 in Jet Star paint. Okay enough of hearing about my favourite pictures.
My dad recently put Windows 7 on one of our computers, the one that barely anyone used to use. My desktop? A Qantas A380 coming in to land over my city because I'm cool like that. If my sister weren't using it all the time with her tiger backgrounds, I would be on it all day everyday.
Airports are just as cool. I love their air condition-y goodness. Like the boarding calls being called and the newsagents selling last minute souvenirs. Did I ever tell you that time about that time in 2008 when we were going to Adelaide and I forgot to take my favourite pair of pretty purple scissors out of my pencil case and put in my checked luggage? Well they got taen away and I've never seen them again.
I don’t know why I love planes so much. Maybe it’s just the idea that everyone on that plane has a story, a reason for coming to here. Whether it be coming home, for business, or holiday. Or maybe they’re starting a new life here. Or, you know, it could just be the different aircraft models, paint jobs, and how they work. Because the latter is pretty cool.
Conclusions I've Come To Since My Last Post
1. I suck at posting regularly
I do.  Whatever happened to "I'll try to have a noraml-ish posting schedule  in a couple of days"?I've just been lacking so much inspiration latly and I''ve had barly any time. I havn't even been in highschool for 2 weeks and I already hate homework.
2. Cyclones can be scary when where you live isn't meant to get cyclones.
Okay, so I started a post about this, but never finished it.
It's very rare that cycones even come this far south. but you might have seen on the news if your Australian (heck, even if your not). So on Saturday [29th Jan], we went out on our boat with my sister's friend. where they went snorkelling but I didn't because my mask was annoying me so bad.
Then all these masisve storm clouds started rolling in. And OH MY GOSH IT WAS SO COOL! There was this massive sort of cloud front and it blew over us when we were at the boat ramp really fast. it's sort of hard to explain, but it was amazing.
So all in all, I'm happy because  we get the clouds and rain of a cyclone (which I love) but not the destroying wind! YAY! Also the power didn't go out like I thought it would!
And the cyclone got cancelled!
3. Something wierd is happening to Queensland
First a big flood and now a big cyclone? Okay Mother Nature. I think you can stop now. You have gotten whatever point you were trying to get  across across. Apparently the cyclone was as bad, if not worse than Hurricane Katrina.
My hearts are with all those who dies, knew someone who dies, or lost all of their belongings in the floods and cyclone.
It's all so terrible.
4. No one good ever comes to my city
I remeber when I was about to start year 4, Hilary Duff came to Australia (I used to be a massive Hilary fan. Heck, I'm still one!) but she only went to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. And I couldn't just fly over there because it's expensive and school was starting the next day or something.
So many examples of that. Like when I was obsessed with Miley Cyrus, and I found out her "Wonder World Tour" didn't come to Australia.
Right now though, Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter is coming to Australia in this SupaNova Pop Culture Expo event thingy, and the event comes to my city, but Tom doesn't. I really want to meet the Harry Potter cast.
5. Highschool is nothing like in the movies.
So last week, I started highschool. And it is seriously nothing like in the moviies. I'll do a post about highschool another day though.
6. Facebook is overrated.
'Nuff said.
Handwriting Tag
Okay, so I came up with this sort of tag thing where you write some answers down on a piece of paper and then scan it/take a pho of itand post it on your blog.
So, here are the questions.
1. What is your name/your Blogger name?
2. What is your blog name/URL?
3. Write "The quick brown fox jump's over the lazy dog"
4. Favourite quote
5. Your favourite song
6. Your favourite bands/singers.
7. Anything else you want to say?
8. Tag 3-5 other people.
Here is mine...
Sorry it's so messy.
Actually, No, I'm Not Dead.
I could start this post of by saying how sorry I am for not posting at all lately, or I could come up with something even semi creative to start this post off. but I think I'm going to go with the first option. because I'm not very creative. So sorry everyone for my lack of posting!
Also I have absolutly no idea what to write about. Literally nothing as happened these past couple of days. Adnd I don't remember a single hing we did down south on holidays.
I have gained even more obsessions since last time. Mainly to do with celebrity award shows (Golden Globes, Oscars) and having my iPod perfectly organised. So I have basically been sitting on my butt in front of the computer every day, nearly all day.
And I found this quote on Tumblr that I really like, and I'm just putting it in this post to make it more interesting, and seeing as this is a post of no subject, it doesn't matter.
Some people prefer sports, we prefer music. Some people go to games, we go to concerts. Some people wear their favorite team jersey, we wear our favorite band shirt. Some people talk about how good the game was, we talk about how amazing the concert was. It’s the same thing, yet we get called obsessed?
                                                                                                                    -Anonymous
And to everyone who has commented during my "break" thankyou so much :) And sorry I took so long to publish them.
Also, thankyou so much to Jen in the Purple Pants, Jane Doe and Ally-Cat for following. It all means so much to me. And I'm not just saying that.
I'll try to have a noraml-ish posting schedule  in a couple of days, but for now, au revoir.
What I Want To Do When I Grow Up
I used to want to make movies. Then I saw Get Smart and I wanted to be a spy, as you know from the Title of the blog. Like a spy that runs around, looking around corners, with gadgets and protecting the country's secrets. Like in the movies.
Then I decided I didn't want to get blown up or die or anything, so I decided that I would do hacking or something.
I wanted to that for the longest amount of time. Like sitting behind a computer all day, scanning emails being sent
Of course I wanted to do all of that with "Australia's version of the CIA", because I had no idea what it was called. Then I discovered it was called ASIS/ASIO..
I came home from Guides one night and Criminal Minds was on. It quickly became my favourite crime show. And because it takes me forever to learn TV character's names, I kept saying "I want to be like the fat 'chick' on Criminal Minds when I grow up!" because what Garcia does (looking at databases for connections and stuff) was sort of what I wanted to do. That was like, last month.
And as I watched the actual profilers busting into houses and looking around corners checking if a house was clear, guns in hand.
I think I want to be a profiiler. It looks like more fun than Garcia's job, and you get to travel (according to the show. If you don't know, a profiler tries to get information about the person past tp find out why they might have done it, I think.I'm not very good at explaining things :P
Also, I want to have a job that makes me travel.
And I don't think that a profiler really counts as a spy.
What do you want to be when you get a proper job?
P.S. I'm not going to post for the next 6 days (not that that it would matter, I normally don't post that often anyway, so you wouldn't notice) or so because we're going down south again. So BYE!
I Think I'm Going to Redo My End of 2010 Post
Just re-reading it, my end of 2010 post was pretty bad. So I'm going to do it again.
____________
2010 has been a big year. it has been filled with ups and downs and lefts and rights. Also obsessions.
I got even more into Harry Potter and realised just how epic it is. For me, Harry Potter isn't just an obsession. It has taught me so much. Too much to mention here.
Another big obsession was Glee. I occasionally watched it when it was on nights other than Thursday (I had Guides and it was on on a Thursday in Australia), but I was never really able to get into it. Then when it came off hiatus in the middle of season 1, I decided to watch every episode online. There are still 1 or 2 episodes I haven't seen from the 1st part of season 1, but I'm getting there. Glee has also taught me quite a bit, especially about just being who you are. Right now, I'm on the computer in the living room, and I keep glancing over at the TV and Mercedes just started sing 'Beautiful'.
And I can't forget Team Starkid. The biggest obsession of the year for me. I knew what it was and everything, and that they made a Harry Potter Parody, but I just never got around to watching it. I watched it sometime in June, just before the sequel came out. I enjoyed it and all, but I never really got into it either. Then it was announced that Darren Criss, the guy who played Harry, was going to be on Glee. So I decided to watch the musical again, and this time, I really enjoyed it.
Okay. So now, you're probably getting bored of what I'm obsessing over.
At the beginning of the year, I entered year 7; my last year of primary school. It was a definitely a year to remember. Then I graduated in earlier in December. I know I will keep 1 or 2 friends really close, but the others, as nice as they were, I just don't think I'll stay friends with.
One thing I'm most proud of that I did this year is getting into the academic classes at the highschool I'm going to.
And I survived the needles year 7's need to get. I am terified of needles. But I like how they make your arm stiff!
I can't really remember much else that I've done this year.
I'm not normally one to set resolutions so I am going to make 2 resolutions and 1 dream.
Resolutions:
-Stop chewing my nails
-Be nicer
Dreams
-Make some friends that will stay friends forever and who will be the best friends I've ever had.
So best wishes to all of you for the new year! May 2011 bring you all good luck. <3
